Takako Ohta -- Good Bye Mr. Extra (Good Bye Mr エキストラ)

I didn't know anything about this 80s aidoru, Takako Ohta(太田貴子), until now but when I listened to this song from her 2nd album "Gradation" from December 1984, I found it cute and charming enough to put up. Although "Good Bye Mr. Extra" has that typically jaunty aidoru melody, I like the way it is underscored by that synthesizer right from the intro. And especially during the intro, it has an almost City Pop feel to it. The song was written by Tomoko Aran(亜蘭知子)who would later take care of several of TUBE's classics and composed by Etsuko Yamakawa(山川恵津子).

As for Ohta herself, I was surprised to find out that she was the voice behind the anime heroine "Creamy Mami"(魔法の天使クリィミーマミ). Even though she was apparently not trained to become a seiyuu, Ohta successfully applied herself to the character to great popularity.

The Tokyo-born aidoru released 16 singles between 1983 and 1990 and perhaps around 12 original albums.
